Smooth Take On Breakfast

I think we all get bored with breakfast at some point. Everyday we are trapped in the cycle of having the usuals.

Perhaps our usuals may be healthy but that kick for the day is missing. How about trying something new, fun, delicious and vibrant… how about a smoothie?

I started making smoothies almost a year ago when I became more health conscious and they are my favorite go-to breakfast. What I like about smoothies is that you can customise them to your liking and It’s way easier than scrambling an egg, toasting a slice of bread and boiling water for tea/coffee. They are also a powerhouse of nutrients- Dietitians and nutrition experts couldn’t agree more with this.
I am sharing not one but THREE of my favourite breakfast smoothies with you:

Morning Dew

Processed with VSCO with g6 presetThis green smoothie is absolutely refreshing. It is an energy booster and a great way to add veggies to your diet.


  • 1 cup Kale and Spinach Mix
  • 1 cup frozen Pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 frozen Banana
  • 1 cup frozen Mango
  • 1 1/2 cup Coconut water
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated Ginger

Blend and enjoy.

Almond Butter and Jelly

Processed with VSCO with g6 presetI got this inspiration from pinterest, they had a peanut butter and jelly smoothie but I swapped peanuts for almonds. It is simply delicious.


  • 1 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 cup mixed Berries (raspberries, blueberries and blackberries)
  • 1 frozen Banana
  • 2 tablespoon Rolled oats
  • I tablespoon Almond butter
  • 2 ounce Plain Yogurt

Blend all ingredients.


Banana Strawberry

I go Bananas for Bananas; they are an excellent base for breakfast smoothies. I looove the banana and strawberry combination they are just perfect.This smoothie is thick,creamy and satisfying.


  • 1 cup Almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen Strawberries
  • 1 frozen Banana
  • 2 tablespoon Rolled oats
  • I tablespoon Vanilla

  1. Welcome to my world. Glad to have you on board. I’m very proud that you are keeping up with this. When you make it a lifestyle it becomes less of a burden. This is very encouraging because I was a natural freak, even to the point of going gluten free and like a year ago I just fell off bad, stopped going to the gym and eating healthy.     1. We all fall back on our fitness jouney at times (i am guilty) but smoothies will make it difficult to fall off track. I am glad you are encouraged and thanks for the encouragement too.
