Happy December loves, I hope you are feeling merry and bright! ‘Tis the season when everyone gets excited. It is even more exciting when we are confident in our own skin.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, apart from regular showers, do we take additional steps to maintain our first garment? Some of you have requested that I share my skin care routine, so today I am letting you in.
I have combination skin. I get a little oily in my t-zone area especially when I wear makeup. Apart from dealing with breakouts now and then, I have no other skin issues.
“Beautiful Skin Starts From Within”
Ever since I’ve cut back on junk food and started drinking more water, I noticed a difference. I’ve encountered less breakouts and there is a natural glow. Apart from eating healthy, there are certain products that help to keep my skin in check. After running through dozens of products, it is safe to say that I’ve found a routine that is working for me.
Please note: I am not an expert at skin care, I am just sharing what works for me. This method may not work for you. If you are known to have allergic reactions to certain products mentioned in this post, please check with your dermatologist if you intend to use.
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
I have been using this foam free cleanser for almost a year and I am loving it! It is gentle yet effective. It leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and silky soft.
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub
I am obsessed with the scent of this scrub. It literally smells like a freshly cut grapefruit. I use this product twice per week to help control the oil in my T-Zone area and keep pimples away. It does a pretty decent job.
LIPS
Mac Lip Scrubtious
I recently added this brown sugar lip scrub to my routine. I discovered this product a week ago and it is magical. It smells yummy and it gently removes dead cells leaving my lips soft and moist. I use this scrub twice per week.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque
This step is very important as it restores moisture in the skin. I try to hydrate twice per week with Dermalogica’s Hydrating Masque. I am totally obsessed with this product, as you can tell from the tube. First of all it smells like a delicious bowl of plantain porridge and is super light weight which I like. I let it sit on my face for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water, leaving my skin refreshed.
Aveeno Clear Complexion Moisturizer + Phyto Replenish Oil
I use Aveeno’s Clear Complexion daily moisturizer along with Dermalogica’s Phyto Replenish oil. I cannot begin to express how much I love this combo… it is the BOMB!
I have used a number of drugstore and high end moisturizer and Aveeno is my fave!!! It is neither heavy nor greasy. I usually add 3 drops of Phyto Replenish oil to my moisturizer, it takes this step to another level. The oil is lightweight and instantly gives a dewy finish and youthful glow.
Mac Prep + Prime Skin Refine Zone Treatment Soin
I apply a pea-sized drop of this product to my T-Zone area to get rid of excess oil before applying foundation… it work wonders.
Loreal Clay Mask
I use this masque once per month and it definitely unclogs dirt and oil from my pores. I usually leave it on for 15 mins then rinse with luke warm water. The smell is not the best and it takes a good minute to get the clay off but it does its job.
Nade’s Xfoliant
I got this scrub from The Life Spa a couple months ago and couldn’t get enough, I had to order a bigger jar! The smell reminds me of a fresh cup of Blue Mountain Peak coffee. This scrub consists of coffee, brown sugar, salt and coconut oil. I use it once per week, it exfoliates and moisturize my skin at the same time leaving it smooth as a baby’s butt.
Nature Well Moisturizing Cream, Cherry Blossom
It is hard to find a moisturizer that doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky. Nature Well is my go-to moisturizer. It has a light cherry scent which is not over powering. It is silky soft and leaves my skin hydrated.
That’s pretty much my skin care routine guys. I hope you find this post useful.
Aveeno clear complexion is the business. I use that along with the Aveeno exfoliating pads on a daily basis. Love it Cam💞💞💞
